Are the macbooks purchased in store factory sealed (the box is taped)? Just asking because I've read in an old thread that some apple stores allowed customers to open and try the Macbook before buying.

Apple Stores already have Macbooks on display for you to try before buying.

They will not, however, let you open up a box before buying and try that specific Macbook out.
 
You can buy the computer and pull it out right afterwards in the store to play with it and make sure it's ok. But you can't open an unbought computer.
 
buy at Comp usa... you can open it play with it for a few days and take it back without being penalized... Apple retail sucks...
