So I returned an iPhone Pro Max that was for a gift, the person ended up getting one a week before, I returned it to the Apple store on 10/11/2021 where I had originally picked up the order, they told me 5-7 business days to see a refund back into my credit card, which is correct because I have returned other items and as a matter of fact, I've receive my refund to the credit card like in 2 days, this time its past 7 business days, and my bank has no refund from Apple coming in anytime soon for the amount or for the date I returned the item, I've called Apple numerous time, and all they tell me is give it more days. This is total BS, this has never taken this long, the representative even called the store I did the return, and all they told her was that they had issued the refund, which is correct because I have my return receipt from them, at this point the only option I have is to open a dispute with my bank and have them investigate. Does Apple have an account department number or anything? I'm not getting anywhere with 1-800-692-7753.

Have you tried the customer help chat feature yet? I find that to be hugely effective in solving my issues.

FWIW I experienced something similar with a return once (with the european Apple online store). Apple told me they had issued a refund, but my bank had no incoming refund in their systems. Had to start an investigation with my bank and Nets (european provider of digital payment services, they run almost all payment terminals etc. in Europe). After two-three weeks the money suddenly came through, and the bank told me the transaction had somehow ended up in VISA’s anti fraud systems which caused the delay. They had no idea why, and sounded really surprised.

No idea if this relates to your case, but I really understand your frustration. Becoming the middle man between Apple and the bank was frustrating to say the least. Nothing really both parties could do for me in my case, until it magically showed up by itself. Hope it goes well ?

If you have the return receipt you're going to get your money. It is odd that it hasn't happened in a timely matter so you may want to follow up with your bank to have them track down what happened. It's definitely inconvenient but you'll get your money..

Yesterday i returned my 13 pro max and they told me that refund will be transfered within 2 weeks. Dont know why they told me this.
Everywhere i am searching and its mentioned for 5-7 days for credit card refund.

It will show up. You have a return receipt. That is proof enough you returned the item. Now if it was several weeks I could understand. Give it a few more days.

Usually 3-5 days depending on the bank and how you process it. Sometimes when I use PayPal (linked to my bank account) it can take 1-2 weeks for the ACH to transfer.

My experience with Apple and refunds has also been poor.

Back in around 2013 I remember buying a MacBook Pro at the Apple store in Covent Garden (London) using my credit card. Had to return it a week later for a refund. Normally refunds take 5-7 business days when I buy anything here, but because back then (not sure if it's still the case now) all of Apple's payments were handled in the US, I was told it would take around 14 days. Eventually took 3 weeks for me to get my money back.

Haven't bought anything in an Apple store since. I hope it's improved.

Thank god , yesterday i got my refund. It takes only 1 days to refund . Dont know why they asked me to wait for 2 weeks.

Just give it some time OP, you'll get your refund. The process is taking a little longer than normal now for all items being returned. You constantly calling Apple isn't speeding anything up for you. You will get the refund, just be a little patient.

****Update****
So I finally received my refund, but something I learned was that when you purchase an Apple product on-line and you return it, the refund date that you are to look for in your bank is the date when you ordered it on-line, and not the actual return date on the receipt, I did not know that so I was looking for the transaction in my bank with the return date of the receipt that I received from Apple and the Apple store where I returned it.

I guess that depends how your bank operates. When I returned an apple product before, the return posted date is the date that I returned an order. Not the date it was ordered.
