Hi everyone, so I ordered and received a 12.9 and 11 inch iPad on May 21st, but have been out of town since then and will be opening them up today.

My 14 day return period expires today, and to avoid any potential issues with devices, can I start a return today so that I still have another 14 days to return if necessary?

Thanks for your help!

If you not going to keep them, call and return them immediately. After the 14 days has expire, it is yours forever!

Yeah, I believe so. However, I’m not sure how the process goes I haven’t done the process myself. But users have mention you can initiate a return online… then Apple gives you a week or so to successfully return the order.

Go ahead and start the online return and it will display the date by which Apple has to receive it. You can cancel the return if you decide you want to keep them.

Just initiated a return earlier to keep my options open. I've got until June 18 to ship it back.

At this point, I think I'm keeping mine (12.9 1TB 5G). Only reason I may return is to upgrade the storage to 2TB.
Great! I just initiated a return for both devices and I have until June 18th to mail back if needed. Appreciate the data point!

Thanks to all who responded!

Not to rain on your parade or mine, the 18th is the date apple needs to receive the device back :)

Don't think so. The email I got clearly says "Please send us your items by June 18, 2021." It also says I can return in store as well so I'm good to go if I do need to return either device.

Make sure you keep proof of mailing and proof of receiving, in case there is a problem later on and Apple doesn't refund.
Started a return online, but didn’t fill out anything, can’t cancel the online return process, changed my mind and want to return the Accessories in store, will this be a problem?

This is true. I’ve done this in the past

No, don’t think you can anymore… I have one I need to return same situation…. And it said send by June 5th!

Not true. I have the same message. If you continue to start a return you will be promoted with a return label to print and a date to which you need to ship it by.

I just did this with my MacBook Air where it said I need to send my product by June 4 but to send it back to Apple by June 18

This is also not true. I’ve sent it on the day it needed to be sent back by.

It says so in the email anyway “send this item back to Apple by June 18”

Apple doesn’t determine it by shipping time. When you take it to UPS they scan it and Apple gets notified when the item was received by UPS

Just take it to the store. You can’t cancel a return it’ll just say return request expired

Please keep us updated! :)
Will do, never had any issues with apple customer service, in person or over the phone, magic keyboard is eating through my battery life something silly when typing, it's also left a faint line across the back of my iPad where the magic keyboard bends towards the bottom. ?‍♂️

Won't bother replacing the iPad, since you can only see the line in certain lighting conditions.

So during the 2 weeks after initiating the return, can you just take it back to the physical store or do you have to return it via courier? Just wondering for future reference.

Either way is fine, returning it to a store is faster as you'll receive your refund quicker.
