I don't understand why it is ironic to advertise something you are selling.

Is it because of the word "new"?

"Misleading ad" is almost redundant.

Who are they targeting anyway? Anyone who really needs a pro already knows it.

Hi mdntcallr!

I can see the picture "strong and clear."

Do you know anything more about how much new this new Mac Pro actually is?

Well "All New" typically means a new release or newly updated model. Here the only thing new was a model out for over 1 year, with maybe several years of actual lack of being updated design wise.

With the lack of so many upgrades, The Mac Pro is very needing an update.

So, for Apple to be running online ad's on a macintosh website, when the product is so long in the tooth is just sad.

Sad? Possibly. But ironic?

well how about simplifying from irony to false advertising?

all new mac in the ad. what do i care, just hope they come with something new soon. my 2 x3 ghz dual core xeon may need upgrading this year to something more current, its a bit frustrating that they are treating professional users like morons.

It's not false advertising. It's the latest model and they're "new" machines.

I don't see the issue. Maybe they just haven't change the ad in 5 years?

I live in the Bay Area and went to visit my local Apple Store.
Since it is getting close to Christmas, they've setup the express checkout area (they start keeping a bunch of boxed products out in the retail area instead of in the back).

While they were shuffling things around, the took the Mac Pro out of the retail area.

The Apple TV is still hooked up to a TV and they have 27" monitors, but the Mac Pro is no where to be seen.

Not a good sign.

This happens at my local Apple Stores around Christmas pretty much every year. Your average retail Apple Store customer is in to buy a laptop or an iDevice, or perhaps even an iMac. During the holidays, you have gift shoppers and they're probably not looking to buy expensive workstations as Christmas gifts. With limited floor space, it makes more sense for a store to display volume sellers.

Does this mean that don't have Mac Pros in stock in the back? Doubtful.
