Hello,
I have an iPhone 5 and today, after installing a cydia tweak, it asked me to reboot my iphone and it stays forever on the black screen with the Apple in the center.

I could simply restore my iphone to the new ios version, but I would loose the jailbreak.

I would like to know if there is a way I could uninstall this tweak, by turning on in safe mode or something like that or if I could just restore without having to update to the new ios.

Thanks a lot!

Turn off the device. Turn it back on and hold the volume up button

This'll disable all tweaks and you can go into cydia and uninstall the offending tweak

Then resume to reboot the device like normal

Just let it try to boot for a few days on the charger. What tweak did you attempt to install.

I downloaded one to put Siri in my language.

The volume up button does not work.

If I leave it alone for a few days, will it work?

What is the name of the tweak? Are you sure it was a tweak and not a Siri port?

I don't think leaving it alone for a few days would help

yes, it was a tweak.. the name of the tweak is Spite for iPhone 4S

if it helps, when I plug the iPhone to the computer, itunes recognizes it and I am able to access via windows explorer the camera album photos.

If your phone is on the apple logo it will never boot. This is an unbootable state. I have a couple bad tweaks do this to my phone. And I was able to save my jailbreak every time. All you have to do is run evasion again. This will remove all of of your tweaks from cydia, some will still be installed. You must remember every tweak you had and reinstall them so that they show up in your packages list in cydia. This has saved my butt many times. No one has to loose their jailbreak due to a bad tweak.

I've already tried to run evasion again. It stops in the screen that says: Waiting for device to be ready... (Do not touch your device).
While the evasion is on that screen, the iphone is on the black screen with the white apple.

Any other suggestion?

That's the same version I'm using. Sorry it's not working for you. How long are you letting it wait while evasion is running?

Running evasion has saved me many times.

That's too bad. Sorry.

I have let it wait enough time, until an error message was displayed: could not connect to iPhone.

Then I tried a new thing. When I got the waiting for device to be ready message, I fastly unplugged and plugged the usb cable and the proccess continued... it installed cydia again and everything, but then it told to unlock the device and execute the program (the final part of the jailbreak), but I could not unlock the device, since I was stuck in the apple screen.
Does this information help?

When it tells you to unlock the device, the phone should have booted already. I don't thinks its working for you.

I think that is your best bet, if it won't get past that screen then you probably can't save your jailbreak, sorry.

I think he can't.

Spite is a Spire spin-off for the 4/3GS for 5.1.1. It won't update the language.

It will thoroughly fubar any 4S or 5 as that already has siri.

Sorry but you will loose your JB.

Update to 6.1.4

He probably can though, however. If he replies and hasn't restored yet, I can most likely help him

He is beyond help as it corrupted the file structure, only a full restore can fix that, but please do enlighten us what magic you can work!
