I placed an order for Apple Watch 7 on March 5, 2021. Based on Apple store it is already delivered but I only received the additional strap I ordered.

So I called Apple and tell them that I haven’t received any Apple watch from them. So the customer service I spoke with asked me if I want replacement or refund, and I told them I want replacement.

After the call, there’s “Return” initiated in my account and I called them again telling them how can I process a return if I don’t received anything from them. So they told me to just ignore the “Return Initiated”

Then after few days, I received the new apple watch. Then after a week, I received another apple watch. Apparently, the first product they shipped just arrived. And now in my apple store account, it’s telling me that 14 days has been passed and the return has been expired.

Now, what should I do to the other apple watch? They only charged me once, can I legally keep the watch?

Tbh, I would call them, explain what happened and see what they suggest. Maybe they accept that there was a mistake on their side and let you keep it anyway and if so, I‘d ask them for some kind of written statement to be legally on the safe side.

Apple is notoriously good (unlike many other online retailers) at recognizing when these things happen and then charging the original card for the second item. I’d contact Apple support ASAP, you’ll most likely be getting a free return label as they aren’t a massive superstore website and what they sell is generally more valuable than a return label.

Even if you don’t, at any point Apple might flag the extraneous devices serial as a stolen/void item making it worthless (and the owner legally liable for possessing stolen property.)

In these circumstances I just could not keep the extra watch unless Apple said "keep it". For me it would be like finding a wallet on the sidewalk, and keeping the money in it.

Does it really matter what we think? If Apple figures it out they'll just charge the card you used to purchase the original watch and if they don't you'll get away with not paying for the second one. It all depends on what you consider right and wrong.

. . . can I legally keep the watch?
I'm glad to see that the responses here have been consistent in recommending the correct moral response which is to be straightforward with Apple and inform them of their mistake. Irrespective of whether or not they will be likely to 'catch' their mistake without you telling them.

It is not a matter of what is 'legal' or not, we should always strive to do what is moral and correct, don't you think?

I seen a story where a guy kept a expensive tv Amazon accidentally sent him. They tried contacting him because he kept the tv. The next few weeks he was charged.

If I were in your shoes, two questions would occur for me: what if I was in de seller’s shoes finding out that I had basically given a device away by mistake? And if I don’t inform the seller and keep the device, can I live with myself knowing that I benefit from somebody’s mistake that I can correct by returning the unpaid device? As to the second question: I couldn’t, irrespective of the seller’s financial position or my legal position.

Agree with other commenters. Of course, Apple has to pay for the return. I'm sure if OP follows up, they will send prepaid shipping label — hope you kept the original mailing box!

I’m on the side of returning it as something you do for yourself and not Apple. Also, I suspect that they receive computer notifications for Their shipments to verify that they’ve been received. If apple is set up to do so they’ll know you’ve received both packages.

If you order one watch, and two show up in the same box, then you're probably OK to keep it. Same would apply to if you ordered only a watch, and an extra band, charger or other accessory was in the box. Neither of those extra items were ordered or requested by you, so legally* you're allowed to keep it. In that case, morally the "right" thing to do would probably be to call and explain you received items you didn't order.

*not a lawyer, but I've recently completed a 30 second google law class

BUT... you ordered a watch, then called apple and told them it wasn't received, and requested a new one (meaning you've actually placed 2 separate orders for a watch ) and both watches you ordered have shown up. Unless you want to pay for both, you need to return one of them, since you've already told apple that's what you wanted to do. Even though the time on the return has passed. Their order system is tied into the shipper's system, and apple will receive notice of delivery, and will more than likely charge you for the replacement watch.
Call apple and find out how they want to handle it. You might get a free watch, but don't count on it

I am envying you right now for being so lucky, having two apple watches and paying only for one is just like winning a lottery. If i was you i would definitely keep it and if that makes me feel so guilty of having it i would either gift it,sell it or might donate it.
