Apple servers down?

For the last 2 months I have been unable to contact various Apple servers. Right now I can't teach discussions.apple.com. i checked and the server is not down. I am trying with 4 different browsers. Is the problem that Apple's servers are so busy? Anyone else having the same problem? BTW, it's not my Macbook Pro problem, because my PC gets the same timeout.
