I stumbled across an interesting tidbit in this article stating Apple servers will need to be placed on-site in the carrier's (AT&T's) network.
(Interesting, because in my experience virtually all corporations loathe being compelled to host other companies' servers. Or maybe it's just ours'...

They speculate what the reason for this might be, it'll be interesting to see. Is this necessary for something like Visual Voicemail, authentication and email services (as they suggest) or something new we haven't heard about?
