In a word - great :D

Without the details, Apple really jumped through some hoops to help me out on a new MBP C2D 15" (2.33 w/ 2 GB ram) - VERY high marks.

At a recent client presentation the new C2D was running for three hours straight with a Keynote presentation involving embedded HD video and HiRes photographs driving a new AX100U Panasonic HD projector and Audioengine speakers over Airport Express via Airfoil. Not a single glitch, quiet, fast and - believe it or not - actually COOL to the touch. Not hot, not warm - cool. The entire rear of this Rev B is a large vent, no fan noises, no screen inverter buzz, no moo, fairly even screen illumination, even keys, excellent fit and finish. There is nothing additional that I could have asked this laptop to do - Apple got this one right :)

Except the display.

Noticed yourself saying fairly even backlighting? Why can't it be even backlighting without the "fairly"? Fit and finish is definitely excellent for this machine though. As good as it can be.

My primary use is to drive HD projectors - so the laptop lcd is not as critical for me. That said - your point is taken - I expect LED backlit lcd screens will be on the market soon and hope Apple will go that way - should provide more reliable screen performance.

I'm just so happy that the many Rev A problems have been resolved thus far in my limited use.
