Apple Set Up Developers for Failure??

There's a growing consensus that Apple has released a highly unstable "final" version of the 2.0 firmware. So, maybe it's more of a shame that Apple, who laid the groundwork for a multitude of useful and exciting applications, rushed development and failed to build a better foundation."

Can't say i've had any real problems with V2.0 at all. And im using the "thursday edition" that some claim is inferior. Even though I believe it is exactly the same.

I can't recall any apps crashing to the home screen - all of mine have caused the phone to reset.

See if you guys are on the 345 firmware or the 347 firmware. 347 IMO is much more stable and snappier than 345. I had the lag and the crashing with 345 and since restoring to 347 I feel its much more stable. Just my opinion though... take it with a grain of salt till you try it yourself; It can't hurt.

The only problem that I have had with apps crashing is if I bought the app from the iphone itself and then synced to my mac...for some some reason it was not transferring the song to my mac and would cause the app to crash back to the home screen after that.

I right clicked on the device pane while the iphone was connected and hit "reset warnings" and then it started asking me if I wanted to transfer over the apps i purchased...I clicked yes and haven't had this problem. I also upgraded to the 47 build of the firmware and it is much much much quicker than the 45 build

Agreed! My original iPhone lags constantly when typing since upgrading from 1.x to 2.0. Crashing apps. Server problems all day on Friday. Hmmm...could it be that Apple rushed this to market???

I'm on 345. I'll upgrade tonight and see if that makes any difference.

Well, they kinda had to. It didn't release late June like they said, so a ton of people complained. If they delayed it more...

Instead, they get bugs and activation nightmares. Sweet.

Of the dozen or so apps that I've installed and used, only one has caused problems (Scrabble, if you care) -- which makes me think that (at least for me) the problem is with the app and not the overall firmware update.

Why would apple screw developers on purpose. They are getting a cut of the applications sold, and want developers to succeed.

Why would a developer be anonymous about this? If it were true people should know. I certainly would give them credit and be more inclined to be their customer if they were actually right about such a thing. Hiding because you fear Apple retribution is silly, unless you are just talking out your backside.

They also released the most buggy version of iTunes in a while...7.7.

I'm sure the reason is because they didn't want to push back the release of the all this stuff and cause a #%)*storm...

I don't think they screwed anyone on purpose...hopefully they will have updates out soon.
