Why in the world should apple buy yahoo when they've failed, their business model is broken, they have nothing to offer apple.

Apple should buy me -- I'd sell them 50.1% shares in me for no more than $100M. That's a bargain and I'd bet they'd get more out of me than out of Yahoo.

Yahoo!'s got services and content that Apple can integrate with the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch/Macs. Sort of like .Mac on steroids.

Apple can use Yahoo (?Maps, search, webmail, flickr, etc.). instead of MS or Google.

hey Apple's got plenty of cash

Thank god you're not running apple. They would go around buying up every overpriced, failed and dwindling company until their cash reserve is depleted and they have no money left for R&D

They don't need or want the search
They already have a webmail client
They could expand the .me gallery further instead of buying yahoo just for flickr

Again what services does yahoo have (and is successful at) that would prompt apple to spend billions of dollars? None, there's no synergy between apple and yahoo.

For a whole less money they could develop similar services. Buying yahoo for its search engine business is looney because google is crushing them. Why buy in on a losing proposition

I'd like to see Apple buy

I'd like to see Apple buy me one of each of the products they sell. :)
Or maybe at least one of those 17" MacBook Pro's.

What? they got's lots of cash, don't they like me? I like them.

LOL
