Apple Sim: Certified Refurbished iPad Mini 4

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere:

I recently purchased a Certified Refurbished iPad Mini 4 + Cellular 64GB directly from Apple.

It's a great iPad--but appears to be missing the embedded Apple Sim.

I have a spare T-mobile sim, but I would like the flexibility of the Apple Sim.

Does Apple OMIT the Apple Sim from iPad refurbs?

Any help would be appreciated.

You referring to the physical Apple SIM card right? I would guess that it could be different for refurbs, and also depends on locale. Are you in the US?

Yes--US based.

I'm not in the US, but I've had good experience at Apple stores when asking for a carrier sim of some kind. If you're close to one I bet they would give you an Apple SIM.
