Since ios26 I notice I don’t get notifications when scores change of live activities on the Apple sports app. Anyone else seeing this?

Not getting any sound notifications for the Sports Alert app either with live activities. Not getting the notifications when my watch is on.

Update: works when the Apple Watch is not being worn. Checked the Smart Stack settings and they are enabled on the watch app. I get the stack on the watch just no sound when a score happens. If I open the iPhone I do get the notification.

Same. I filed an Apple Feedback for the issue earlier today. Which will surely be ignored like they always are…
As did I. Thing is I have to disable live activities in the watch Smart Stack to get the notifications on the iPhone back when I’m following a game.

The sports app for me is terrible. It can't even do basic things right. I recently reinstalled it after laughing at how bad it was originally. Yes its improved and it now has leagues im actually interested however even if you set your favourite teams, while you may (or may not) get the score banner pop up when a game is played if you actually want goal alerts (like most people would) you have to manually open the app find the game and then click 'follow' for every new game. It's just another example of Apple creating things with loads of potential then making stupid decisions that leave everyone going WTF?! It's like they get 3 quarters of the way through making a product these days and then just go for lunch and never come back. So I've deleted the sports app yet again.

I follow an MLB team and an NFL team. I only get notifications for the MLB team, even though I just double checked my settings. Weird.

I do the same, and my notifications have been all over the place for both.

Sometimes they auto-launch and sometimes they don't.

Sometimes I get a tap for a scoring run or "end of quarter" on the watch, but most often I don't.

Sometimes the tap will come in "late," where the screen updates to reflect the new score but the corresponding tap doesn't happen until I press the crown or tap something on screen.

It's just totally bugged. Hopefully there will be a 26.0.1 coming out today or tomorrow to fix it.

In ios18 after some updates, it functioned much better overall. There were less missed late notifications and auto-launch mishaps. Hopefully this gets resolved, cause even with a less than stellar Sports app, when I can’t watch a game these updates keep me informed.

I had no issues with it with iOS 18/watchOS 18 other than auto-start occasionally not working. Usually only if a game had a delayed start. All of these issues I mentioned above started with iOS 26/watchOS 26.

Nope. Not working on IOS 26 on new 17 base. All my Live Activities / Sports settings are as they always have been.

Hope the 26.0.1 update fixes this (among other things) whenever it comes out.

Look on the bright side everyone, at least now we get an Apple Sports Widget.

(Please note the sarcasm)

I had to open the app and star my team again. After that Live Activity started working and making the noise on significant occasions during the game.
Well tonight my MLB team auto started along with my NHL team 20 mins later. I did get a notification on the phone (widget came up on watch but no sound) when it started… however nothing since for score changes. I even turned off live activities on the Ultra 2 but still nothing on the phone.

Hoping 26.1 will restore this.

Live Activities are back during the WNBA semis this evening. Guess they didn't update the data feed for IOS 26 before release?

Same here. Following an event such as the start of a match or goal, the apple watch no longer has haptic feedback.

Yeah the auto-start of Live Activities in Apple Sports is broken for favorite teams where auto Live Activity is enabled. It works to manually go in and turn it on once a game begins. Even picking a non-favorite game to start before the game begins is not working.

Quality control is not great these days.

It started working for me today.

Didn't do anything on my end.

It just, well, started to work again.
