I have an iPhone 11 (yes, I know it is dated) that is running iOS 18.

I have Apple Sports set up to display Live Activities per the below:

I have Face ID & Passcode set up to display Live Activities per the below:

Yet my lock screen does not any Apple Sports Live Activity but it does display others (i.e. Tesla charging, Uber deliveries, etc.).

Please advise / help get this fixed.

Thank you.

When you click/touch an individual game to get stats and play by play in the upper right hand corner there is an icon that looks like clock with a dot at about 2 o’clock. Tap that and that game will appear as live activity on Lock Screen.

I know it says the live activities you turn on under game updates will be automatically added to lock screen as a live activity, but it didn’t do this for me and had to manually add the game I wanted to follow. I also followed one not pre-approved as a live activity, so the manual process works for any game. It seems like a bug it’s not happening automatically.

It’s still buggy besides this issue, and maybe with first full football weekend with iOS 18 and 2.0 app version servers got overwhelmed causing some issues.

I have an iPhone that’s past it’s prime as well, so maybe that’s part of it as I see others with Dynamic Island not having issue.

@dallastigers awesome, that worked perfectly! Thank you!

PS. I do wish that Apple would update their literature, I spent hours trying to fix this. I was on the phone with Apple who suggested that my OS was corrupted and wanted me to wipe my phone! I refused and then saw your fix! Thank you (again)!!

Tonight a live activity score happened automatically without having to go into the app and manually select it. I had forgotten about game and got a notification which is what I thought would happen from the start when turned on for a favorite. Hopefully it will work like this from now on.

Automatic Live Activity support is definitely hit and miss. I've seen it happen once since the new version of the app launched/iOS 18 with an MLB game, but now that the NHL is starting up again I'd really like Live Activities to work for that and it hasn't automatically appeared once yet. It does partially work for a friend of mine - a couple of games have shown up for him, but not across all of the teams he's favourited and have configured to show Live Activities automatically.

I wanted to file feedback with Apple on this but sure enough the feedback page has no option for the Sports app, either.

@dallastigers I appreciate the update. I did not have any favourite teams playing tonight so I did not notice but will look over the weekend. This would be wonderful were it the case.
