I was thinking about purchasing this apple band however as many of you may know the price is quite steep which I don’t mind paying if I can ensure I can use it on watches going forward. What are the chances apple will change their strap assembly on series 5 and forward?

You may as well roll the dice. Just because old bands fit AW4 doesn't mean Apple won't change course with AW5. If they did, it would make a lot of people, including band makers mad.

If you do buy, buy with the intent of Apple changing course. If they don't, no harm.

Unless apple makes a round watch. I think the current band design will stay for a while. A lot of people including myself would get pretty pissed. I know I won’t buy as many bands anymore if that would happen.

If you want it get it as the uk store has been out of the space black 42mm for a while now. Makes me wonder if it’s being discontinued or maybe a new series 4 model is being made.

Go for it. I purchased one a couple of years ago and it still looks brand new with regular polishing. It’s my daily watch band and it looks fantastic with the stainless steel watch.

I suspect that there will come a time when Apple changes that groove allowing for bands to connect. I'm guessing that they will be successful in their goal of slimming everything down, and at that time the angle and size of the connector will likely be a limiting factor. I only hope that Apple offers some sort of classy- and seamless-appearing adapter at that time, so that the old bands can still be used.

As others have said "no one knows" That being said I doubt Apple wants to irritate all of us who have bought several bands for our watches. Not just yet anyhoo

The link bracelet is very nice, and while expensive in comparison to the other Apple bands, it's actually pretty reasonable when compared with the Swiss bracelet offerings. The clasp and ease of sizing are unmatched.

As for Apple changing the shape of the watch, I think that the design of the AW is becoming iconic and they probably won't deviate too far from it for the foreseeable future. It could eventually get a little slimmer and may need new bands at that time. No one but Apple knows when that's going to happen.

IMO, if you like the link bracelet, you should go for it.

If I was a betting man i would say the series 5 will have the same frame as the series 4. They did go 3 gens with the first design after all.

am I correct in saying the link bracelet was removed from the store and is now available again? How long did it disappear for? Any changes?
