Overall market tanking today, DOW is down 250 intraday. Apple has been down $12, as low as $255 (down from a high of $279).

Are the iPhone4 reception issues causing the selling? Is the market waiting for Apple to acknowledge the problem and fix it?

Is this a buying opportunity?

If Apple did offer a voluntary recall/replacement, how much could it affect the stock? Lots? Little?

Yes, and not only apple but the entire dow jones market is down because of the iPhone reception issues

The reason apple is down is because the entire market is down. Apple just sold 1.7 million iPhones in only a handful of days. IF anything the stock holders are tickled pink at that.

Apple's traded on the NASDAQ, right? NASDAQ is down 3%, and AAPL is down 4%.

Doesn't look like anything special is up with their stock, period.

Is this a serious question ?

Do you even listen to financial news ? The markets are down for 2 reasons : Analysts changing their reliability scores about China's economic recovery and the consumer confidence index that went down for June.

AAPL followed the markets. End of story.
