Apple store and indoor mall...

Mission Veijo Mall opens in the morning at 10 am. Now will I be able to walk in at 10 am and (hopefully if I'm one of the first) get an arm band (what they are saying we need to get an iPhone) then leave and come back at around 5 30 pm and get back in line? I'm not sure how it works...

Nobody can answer this question yet. Take 5th ave for example... it is going to change for every store. People that work there are not going till know till it happens.

You can't just show up really early, get an armband, and go about your day. Obviously you've never done something of this sort before, that would be just silly. Armbands are given out just a few hours (depends on the store) before the store opens, and given out in order of who's in line. So if you want to secure an iPhone, you'll need to wait in line until 6 PM, or until whenever they give out armbands, which for most Apple stores will be 1 hour before opening.

Also, once you get an armband, you usually aren't supposed to leave the line, even though your place is secured. Doing that is usually frowned upon, as armbands are usually just so nobody can sneak into line just before opening.

this is totally unrelated but apple stores are supposed to be open till midnight. if the mall closes at 9:30 does that mean that apple store will close as well?

No, the store will stay open until 12:00, Apple just has to pay the mall money to stay open past mall closing.

If your indoor mall has a movie theater in it, it will already be open later to accomodate the movie goers.

i camped out for the wii for my sister, as much as i want the iphone i cant camp out again.

also, i doubt the spectrum security would let any campers stay.

Good point, but maybe you could get there early in the morning? And i don't think many people know that there is an Apple Store at the Spectrum now since it is fairly new, so maybe it won't be as busy.

thats true. I honestly cant gauge how popular this is going to be? The fact that you can buy it and walk out and activate off itunes only makes it WIDE open for ebay sellers, ugh.

I wanna know what cingular/att stores WILL have them, id rather go there then an apple store, i think the apple stores would be full up first.

If you're from Irvine, i think there are about 7 AT&T/Cingular stores, so it shouldn't be too hard to get your hands on an iPhone on friday.

i live in aliso. There are a ton of att cingular stores, but who knows how many theyll get, and which ones are corporate or franchise, because apparently only corporate stores are getting them.

I hope it wont be too hard, i was hoping to just show up somewhere at like noon or 4pm but looks like it wont happen.

instead of almost freezing to death waiting for the wii ill have to take my chances on melting for an iphone.

Are you gonna try to get one? I almost feel like an apple store is the safest bet, and less life threatening since youll probably be inside and under air conditioning hahaha

I hear that I live in Phoenix, it will be 110°F on friday. I dont want to bake in the sun for 6-8hrs. so i will probaly head to an apple store first inside the nice cool AC mall.

when is everyone gonna start making line for them? I hope stores have more then like.... 10, cause i dont wanna wait all day at ATT and find out i just have to mail order it, while skinny mcrichbitch shows up 10 for only 10 minutes and gets the same deal.
