Since I updated the Apple Store app (Nov 16, version 3.6) the geofence menu icon won't turn off.
This

In the location services settings, it is set to "Always", but I believe that this was previously the same and the menu icon did not used to stay on like this.

Anyone else?

What about changing the option to "while using the app", and/or completely closing the app? Perhaps a reboot might be of some help as well?

Agreed that this would work but it was set to always before this update. Just debugging ;)
Tried reboot. Is your geofence icon on when set to "always"?

I generally don't have any apps set to always (and rarely even use the Apple Store app). I just set it to always and launched the app and saw the location arrow appear, I then left the app and went into some other apps, the location arrow stayed there for about 30 more seconds and then disappeared.

Did you also update to Nov 16, version 3.6? This is when it started.

iPhone 6 running iOS 9.1 (with cellular and WiFi enabled and Bluetooth disabled).

You are so cool to work with :)
Same here except I have Bluetooth enabled. Turned it off and the geofence arrow is gone. Voila!

Ok, but still this can't be normal because this happens when the app is completely closed (swipe up kill process) - not while in background. In case it's relevant, background app refresh is completely turned off.

Thanks for debugging this with me haha.

Got background refresh turned off as well. It sounds like it might be iBeacon related if disabling Bluetooth gets it to go away.
