I may be picking up an iPad soon when I visit the USA. Does anyone know how the stocks are like in the smaller apple stores, especially the one in Otay Ranch, Chula Vista, CA where i'm visiting then?

Thanks

How about calling them rather than anotherone of these threads.

I can't really call from Singapore.

Haven't heard of Skype?

Availability today has no correlation to availability tomorrow.

Steve Jobs said that Apple can't build the iPad fast enough to meet demand. I think that may be more showmanship than reality. A good way to guage availability is to go to Apple.com and look at the shipping dates. I just checked and the shipping dates are listed as 5-7 business days. That doesn't sound like they can't build them fast enough. 21 or more days would sound like the supply had dried up. Since you are travelling such a long way (not just for the iPad, right?) it would be better to call an Apple store and pay for it over the phone with a credit card and have them hold it for you for pickup. Even if they are out of stock when you call, they should have one for you by the time you get here. Just make sure what kind of ID they will accept when you pick it up.

Actually when you take into consideration that you can not upgrade the parts in the Ipad like on a computer then the 5 to 7 day shipping date means that they are selling quickly. If they were not selling so quickly then the shipping date would have been next day since you are not adding RAM or Hard Drive space, etc...
