Nope.
No store in Blackpool. I've visited Blackpool a few times for conferences, and no I cannot see Apple putting a store there. Blackpool is mainly a tourist / conference town.
(I grew up in a tourist town myself so I know what it's like)
Apple will consider Blackpool to be within the catchment area of Manchester. A 1 hour drive is perfectly reasonable to them.
I know what you mean. I live just outside of Blackpool (Lytham St.Annes) which is a 'posh' town. And I know Blackpool is seriously rough. I just thought it would be a good place for them to target new customers. It's a tourist town, which means people will be entised to go into the store
The new Hounds Hill shopping centre just opened (It's been fully refurbished inside and out) They're spending £6m on Blackpool Tower, the council has really understood that it needs a cleanup. And an AppleStore in the HoundsHill I thought could be a possibility. The only chance I really get to go to an Apple Store is when I go to my home in Munich,Germany... because I'm 5mins away from one of the two Apple stores in the country =o)
Just thought it could be a possibility, as there's not even anything up north closer, so it could be a prime location for a new store, as it will give access to more people in the north too. They need to stop building stores in the US (you guys have got enough xP) and build some more in europe... preferably here xD.
Plus Liverpool's relatively close.
Liverpool is further away than Manchester, as Blackpool coast sticks out into the sea, you've gotta come back in on yourself. I measured out the route (GoogleMaps ftw) and it's roughly 20miles further away than the store in Trafford Centre.
Really does suck for us some times.. ugh.
