I was talking to one of my teachers today, and he went to a conference yesterday. They had an Apple representative there talking with them and that. He's going to contact them and see if they can get me some free stuff for certification. Also, he said that there would be an Apple Store opening in Salt Lake City Utah at the Gateway (I think its the Gateway Mall). I was considering going down and spending the night out in front of the place like the day before they open. I know a lot of the stores usually give away free stuff - raffle tickets - think I should? I'm so excited about Utah having one. I'm just like AHHHH. Anyways, it should be there in the Fall (so soon) on like the 12th or the 15th. I can't wait.

I'm pretty excited about it. I found out about it last December when job listings for the store first appeared. Haven't been to the Gateway for a few weeks, but last time I was there, it looked pretty close to being done.

Congrats. Here in CT the closest Apple store from me is about 45 minutes away. :(

This new store location is only about 15 minutes away, but until it opens, the nearest store is 7 or so HOURS away in Las Vegas.

Wow, that's awesome. I hadn't heard about it. Now I have someplace to go and spend all my money when I go up there to visit my parents. Is that the 15th of October that it's opening? That's soon. We have two Apple Stores down here in the Phoenix area and I can't imagine living without them...
Someone who lives in SLC, where is the Gateway Mall exactly? I've heard about it (how all the stores are moving out of Crossroads Mall to go over there) but I've never been there.

It's directly west (across the street) from the Delta Center. I think it's on 400 West, but I'm not positive. It's built up around the Union Pacific station. The Virgin Megastore is actually in the Union Pacific station as a matter of fact. It's an outdoor mall, so it can be really cold and miserable in the winter, but in the summer it's really nice.

I haven't heard an exact opening date for it yet. If I can go to the opening, I'd like to, but school and work may keep me from doing that.

Out here in the far reaches of Windham County, CT. it's about an hour and fifteen minutes!

But this, I think, is good. It's kept me from buying a Nano so far ...

:D November according to the people at the Gateway information booth. They didn't have anything more specific than that though. My guess is that they'll be open the weekend before Thanksgiving so they'll be ready for the big shopping weekend.

Dang it, that's when I'm going to Disneyland for a family vacation. At least I'll have my iBook before then.

Thank the great folks that made this possible... Apple Stores have to be better than CompUSA!
