iPhone 8/Plus Apple Store do Trade-Ins while Mid-Contract?

I have an SE that ATT says is eligible for a trade in (since I have paid half of the phone off already). Does Apple do trade in on phone thats are in the middle of a contract?

Assuming you’re making payments to AT&T, Apple will take trade in. You still have to make the payment to AT&T though for the phone you traded in.
