Does the apple store ever carry refurbs on the 160gb ipod classic?

I've wanted one for a few months now, but was hoping to get a small deal on it. Been checking once a day for 2 weeks now and nothing

I think these are pretty hard to come buy now, you might be better going 2nd hand from eBay

In the UK Amazon sells new classics cheaper than apple refurbs.

They were available from Apple as refurbs forever, for about $220 or so. They disappeared maybe 6 months ago - don't know why they stopped selling them. B&H sells new ones for about twenty bucks less than Apple though, only a few dollar more than the refurbs were priced.
