They wouldn't release new Mac Pros without prior announcement, I think. But maybe some interesting price cuts can give us a hint about something coming up soon?
 
All I see different are a lot of brown boxes instead of devices in the refurb sections.

There's a sliding menu at the top that I've never seen before, but admittedly I don't look at the Store much so it may have previously been there.

Why would you need to take a modern website down to change the content? Hardware maintenance, sure, but content is written on another machine and then essentially copied over in a single operation.

I'm pretty sure that there's no need for it these days but it is somewhat traditional. I suspect Apple still administer site changes in this way partly just as a wind-up for sites like us.
