Hi, i was just wondering if any of you had had similar problems to me with orders placed at the apple store, and if you had any advice of how to deal with it/them.

I placed an order on the 27th of sept for a refurb powermac dual 2.3 and a refurb 12 inch powerbook (at the UK store). the estimated shipping date was the 7th of oct.

The shipping date came and went and nothing happened and there was no change to the status on the website so i phoned them and was given a new shipping date of the following week, and told that i should have received an email telling me this and they were very sorry that i hadnt.

that shipping date came and went, and no change, or email. so i phoned them again and once again was given a new shipping date.

this once again came and went and still no email. so i phoned them and asked if it was just one part of the order holding it up and was told that yes it was the powermac, so i asked if they could send the powerbook while i waited for the powermac. they told me they would phone me back. they never did.
they were unable to even give me a new estimated shipping date for the powermac, i asked if it was likely to be weeks or months and they couldnt tell me anything.

i have received no emails from apple, all information i have (which is minimal at best!) has been obtained by me having to chase them up. They didnt phone me when they said they would either. the order status on the website still says estimated shipping 7th of oct.

I dont know what to do really, im considering cancelling my order. I dont want to do this, but i would like to have a vague idea when im likely to receive it but the way things are going i dont even know if it will be sent this year or not!

Anyway i just wondered if these problems are common place and if this has happened to any of you, how you dealt with it and what happened.

Thanks in advance. :)

Did you get any emails from them after placing your order? Even an order confirmation? If not you may want to check that they have the correct email address for you.

Also, check your spam filters if you're using any.

You should call Apple again, be firm but polite. You could always ask to speak with a supervisor since you are having problems.

I agree, I would call Apple and talk to them and see what they can do.
