Oh no, 900km! :p

Try living in WA where I do, the closest Apple store is over 3000km away!

The first Apple store in Australia (the Sydney one) opened less then a year ago (around the time the iPhone 3G came out), so in a country like Australia, where the population is less then a tenth that of the US, it's quite remarkable that a further two stores have already opened since then. I wouldn't be surprised if an Adelaide and/or Perth store arrive sometime before the end of the year.

yea true But one thing apple should do more is when making a company a authorized reseller make sure some of there staff or all know something about mac's as when you go to a shop like the DSE power house and ask for help with OSX they do not know what your talking about.

it will be a while. Apple resellers in states that have no Apple stores that handle repairs etc. but wont replace and dont have the whole 'Apple mothership' experience.

The only store I go to for OS X/Mac/iPod stuff is Next Byte, there's two stores in Perth (I'd be very surprised if there aren't any in South Australia). They sell nothing but Apple products and accessories, so they're really helpful (plus they gave me an amazing deal for my brand new MacBook Pro :p)...though I do wish they would open an Apple Store here...

There are two in Sydney (Chatswood and Sydney CBD) and one in Victoria (Chadstone) with one due soon on the Gold Coast at Robina.

DSE employees are employed throughout the store, they're not specifically trained in Apple products.

You'll need to find an Apple Premium Reseller - there are some in SA.
