My AirPod Pro case is not charging anymore (the case is actually getting warm but it is not charging, hence my AirPods also remaining dead).

I checked the Apple support page and they are charging 65 EUR for the battery replacement but double that! to replace a "broken" AirPod Pro case. How do they define a "broken" case? A case that does not hold a charge anymore is technically broken as well no? Should I just pick "battery replacement" and hope they replace it for the cheaper fee?

Kind of a rip off to charge double for the same thing considering they are not actually going to replace the battery of a case and give you a new case in both instances.

I paid $89 a couple of years ago for a replacement case for my AirPods Pro. As long as your case isn’t physically damaged, you should be good to go with the battery replacement idea.
130 euro makes no sense
