Albeit on a small scale.

Ive just called Apple support regarding my Mighty Mouse scroll ball clogging up. I bought it the day they came out and although it clogged up quite often it only took a quick wipe with a damp cloth and it was fine. Well now it absolutely refuses to clear itself and I have even attempted to open up the casing only to find you cant because it is properly sealed. Dont attempt to open the casing or you WILL damage the mouse. So I was speaking to an Apple rep and she simply said we will refund you the cost of the mouse, send it back to us and just place a new order at the store. Phone call took 2 minutes and I am saving £5 because Mighty Mouse is nowadays a few quid cheaper.

One reason I think they have done this, mainly because she didnt even ask what was wrong with it. I just said "Im having a problem with it" is because they realise they do clog up quite badly and after a certain point are irreversibly stuck. At least i get a Rev B MM thats not supposed to clog as much!

Just thought I'd let you guys know if you are having MM problems!

I know this doesnt help much but I think I saw something on Macrumors about it yesterday in a forum somehwhere. Ive just done a quick search but cant find it. It did actually state the Rev B serial.

Like I said i bought my the moment they were available on the store. Mine starts KY531... and model number is A1152.

As i write this the damn mouse has cleared itself  oh well Ive ordered the new one now!

Well frick me with a pitch fork its already dispatched after only 1 hour!

Mint!

MA086ZM/A - Rev. A (Ball clogs more easily)
MA086B/A - Rev. B/Feb '06 onwards (Generally more reliable)

Thats the one, I remember "Generally more reliable". Where did you find it, can you link it please. :)

That was originally my post :p

But if you want to know where I got the information from, it was from Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Mighty_Mouse, then looking at the serials from Amazon.co.uk (who never updates Apple stuff apart from iPods and some other things) and looking at the Apple Store serial.
