I sent two trade-in iPhones on Monday via UPS. One of them was received by the destination on Wednesday, while the other has not had a scan since Wednesday at 2AM. The UPS app originally said the trade-in would be delivered on Wednesday, but after UPS failed to deliver it on time, it has simply said 'Check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date.' and this status has not changed since Wednesday evening.

What happens if the trade-in is lost or damaged? Who do I contact? Apple or UPS? If it fails to move in time to receive trade-in credit, can I have UPS send it back to me?

I have a receipt of the scan from the UPS store.

This is why I don't do the trade in deals, with either Apple or AT&T, if I can't go in store to give them the phone, then no thanks, not risking losing my device because these companies can't do their job correctly.

This same sort of thing happened to me. TMo was sending me a new SIM card via UPS. It was scanned, and I had a delivery date of Tuesday. All of a sudden, it said the same thing as you "Check back tomorrow." And Wed and Thurs. I finally got a delivery update late last night for today. I'm wondering if someone figured they'd heist it until they found out what it was then dropped in back in the system. But for the phone, I dunno. When I send mine back in, I might go to UPS and declare extra value or something.

File a claim with UPS for the trade in value. Good luck getting anything out UPS
I'm not sure if I can do this. I went to the website, but it says my account is not associated with it. I suppose this is because it's already prepaid by Apple, so they would have to do it?

Call Apple, I imagine they’ll verify that you dropped it off and you’ll be good to go.
Just talked to an Apple Specialist via chat. She told me the 14 trade-in window is for the time I drop it off at UPS, so I don't have to worry if it takes a long time for UPS to complete the delivery. I was thinking I had 14 days from the time I received the trade-in box to the time it needed to be in Apple's hands. Haha, what a relief after learning this. Now just hoping it's not been damaged.
