i have a apple tv 160gb 1 genaration and i love it.

since apple decided not to support airplay mode on the first model atv, i ask to manufacturers if theres any plans to built some device to attached to atv 1 and make the airplane mode works (sound and video)

apple open the airplay technology to third party manufacturers for a new generation of speakers with airplane mode built in, the next step is just make a gadget for atv1.

this type of market has a lot to explore, just imagine this small gadgets attached to old speakers, old tvs, pc ,able to airplane mode ipad>iphone>ipad>mac>pc>iphone>mac>pc

get your brains to working.....:) money .money:D

ps: make sure the price tag is less than the $99 of the new atv2

just a exemple ,my original dreambox 500s doesnt have wireless built in , but i was able to buy some device attached on the back,to put the dream in wireless mode, it also works to put the xbox360 in wireless mode.

I'm not sure about the rest of your post, but Airplay is supported from iTunes to 1st gen :apple:tv - audio only. Same functionality as AirTunes. If your :apple:tv doesn't show up initially, try restarting it.

Atv1 does not show up as an available speaker from iOS devices using airplay. This sucks a big one.

What really takes the piss is the fact that airport express does. WTF?

Yeah, makes absolutely no sense to me. I might buy ATV2 at some point but not right now - and since iTunes can stream audio from my MBP to ATV1, there's no reason why my iPhone4 can't do the same.

Glad we were able to help Steve with his "hobby".
