I have attempted to jailbreak my Apple TV 2 using Pwnage tool 4.1. All went well untill i have to restore in itunes....I have tried in standard mode and expert mode with no success. I am getting this message from i tunes

" The Apple TV could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build."

An now it wont allow me to connect to my Home share.

any help will be appreciated.

I'm guessing Apple stopped signing 4.1 restores and they are only signing 4.2 restores.

Apple only signs (allows) current firmware restores. When you are trying to jailbreak your AppleTV you are using a custom made 4.1 ipsw. If Apple is no longer signing 4.1 then you will not be able to restore to 4.1 if you did not save your SHSH blobs using Tiny Umbrella.

When you connect it to the tv what do you see?

The apple TV gets stock on "waiting for network tim..." if i press the menu button it will go to the interface, however i can not view any youtube videos or sing into my home share, im wondering if its because the ATV is still in DFU mode.... How do i take it out of DFU mode?

If it was in DFU mode I think the only thing you would see is a message telling you to connect your AppleTV to the computer.

You can try and restore it again.

Hook it up to the computer and make sure it's unplugged from the wall. The only connection you should have is the micro-USB to the computer.

Hold down and menu until you see a light flash on the AppleTV

Release both buttons and immediately hold menu and play until the light starts flashing again.

It should be recognized in iTunes and try to restore again.

Is your Internet and home network functioning on other devices? How far away is the AppleTV from the router? Is it wired or a wireless network?
