Hi Guys,

Just bought the apple tv 3 and its not home sharing with my mac mini which is on SL with all latest updates/itunes.

Sometimes it connects but says it will take 3-4 hrs before I can start to watch anything.

Both are on wireless and sat right next to each other in living room.

it does work fine with the iMac which is on Lion but is upstairs.

Any idea's? does home share only work on Lion now?

Could it be that the Mini's wifi is interfering with the ATV's? If they're both on wifi, the signal goes from the Mini to the router, then from the router to the ATV. Try moving them as far apart as you can, just to see if that makes a difference.

I had the same problem and tried all the fixes (too numerous to mention). The one that I stumbled on that works for me is simple and as follows:

1. Turn off Home Sharing in Itunes

2. Turn on Home Sharing in Itunes but when you get to the page that states "Home Sharing is now on" DO NOT click on "Done". You will now see Home Sharing in the Itunes Sidebar.

That's it.

Just make sure Home Sharing stays in the Sidebar. Since then I have not had one dropped Home Sharing connection with any of my 3 Apple TVs.

Hope that helps.
