Hi all,

I'm looking for some guidance and maybe real world experience.

I have an Apple TV 3 preordered - arriving Friday. I'm wondering if a Google TV might be more suited for me. Maybe someone with real-world use can help out?

I wan't to:
-Stream Movies and TV shows from my Plex server (I realize this would require JB on the ATV).
-Rent the occasional movie (either from Amazon or Apple- no preference, but the Amazon rentals I've had in the past have been fairly poor quality- is this true on Google TV?)

The Google TV integration with my existing cable box (fancy guide, easy search, etc) is interesting to me. Can anyone comment on how well this works in real life? Does it aggregate content? For example, If Im looking for a movie, will it search my cable service, online, amazon rentals, etc?

Thanks in advance for any comments! FWIW, I am looking at the Vizio VAP430 - should be coming out in "spring". No logitech Revue.

No one can comment how well google tv works in reality? My atv 3 is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I'm at a loss!

For you, yes it may be, just for the Cable box integration, on my very personal case, I sold my GoogleTV just because as Plex client and Stream box, I like the Jailbroken Apple TV better, but cut the cord couple of years ago, so no cable for me.

I tried out google tv (the sony nsz box) for a few days.
Its promising. But half baked. It just doesn't feel like a finished product at this point (even after the honeycomb update). As much as I like plex, the app felt lacking. Navigation was painfully slow. But I realize that an update is around the corner.
I am not sold on the whole web browsing interface. Navigation can be painful. Personally I only like to watch HD content on my 50 inch TV. So a lot of the stuff that google tv finds online looks horrible (to my eyes) :)

With the new apple tv 2 software update, we are now able to stream high bit rate movies. This makes apple tv the winner (for my needs)
