I have a 2nd gen :apple: tv that is connected to my airport extreme router via an ethernet cable (they're right next to each other on my shelf).

The airport extreme is sending out both 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals via Wi-Fi. My iPad connects to it perfectly and I am able to do screen mirroring to the :apple:tv perfectly, however my iPhone 4s cannot screen mirror to the tv. It can airplay the songs just fine, but not the screen mirror. I am figuring that the iPad connects to the TV via 5ghz, and the iPhone via 2.4ghz (iPhone doesnt have the capability to connect via 5ghz)

So my question is - is there a way to limit the :apple: tv to connect to 2.4 ghz via the lan as opposed to connecting it via wifi?

Your above setup should work - what's it doing when you turn on mirroring on the phone?

You know you have to swipe right until you seen a screen similiar to this, it's one screen past the play/ fast forward buttons:

When I swipe right on the iPad 2 - I get the above screen.

When I swipe right on the iPhone 4s - I have the "orientation lock" the music controls and the ipod icon. Thats it.

reboot the phone, and while you're at it, the extreme and the tv just for good measure.

if you can airplay from the phone to the :apple:tv, the phone and the tv are seeing each other, one of them has just gotten a bit confused.

Same Issue- have a fix

I had the same problem then learned I needed to swipe right 2X. The first time shows the orientation lock option the next swipe will give you the option to use airplay.
