I have a couple of ATVs and my MBP travels to both separate networks with their own, different ISP. I had my suspicions and just confirmed that when MBP is connected to network that the ATV is (via WiFi), it has streaming problems with Netflix. It loses sound, or just error out. But, when I disconnect my MBP from the network, all is well. I monitor the input/output on my MBP and there was minimal in the range of .*/KB/s being transferred, so I doubt it was that competing for bandwidth. The ISP in question is Time Warner Cable 25/25 with a netgear WiFi.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Perhaps you need to change the OSB Routing Priority settings on your router to increase the priority of the aTV over the MBP. That might be something worth trying.
