Hello,

I hope you can help, I have an Apple TV for a couple of years now, connected via ethernet hard wired and it's great.

I have been advising a friend and he thinks Apple TV is right for him, but has asked if there is a problem with the current version of apple TV connecting via Wi-Fi, he has heard that apparently the Apple TV asks for the router key each time you go to use it.

Is this true or is it perhaps relating to a faulty unit that some one out there may have?

I can't advise him because;

1) my Apple TV is the older version with the hard Disk
2) mine is connected vie ethernet

Any comments, does the new Apple TV always ask for the router key?

My AppleTV 2 only ever had to have the network key entered during setup, it has not asked me for the key again.

Seriously....you really think that ?

I'll answer anyway : it does not always ask for the router key and always stays connected...

Just setup my ATV1 and it has only asked once no matter what TV I connect it to anywhere in the house, and I power it off and unplug it each time, so if anything it would be asking for the key everytime it powers up and it does not.

Thanks everybody for your answers... My friend has decided to buy Apple TV.. good choice I say!
