Apple TV as media center solution

I did a similar thread about using a macbook but upon doing some research, the Apple TV might be everything I need.

I'm looking to get rid of cable TV and buy AppleTV. The plan is to use Hulu to watch everything I'd normally DVR (Lie To Me, Dollhouse, Lost, etc) but what can I do about shows not available like WWE/TNA wrestling? I talked to an Apple Genius and he said there isn't 'official' software to watch Hulu on Apple TV, I've seen a few sites dedicated to it so its just a matter of watching stuff that isn't normally available on the net. So really, its a matter of trying to watch TV that isn't normally available on the net. Any ideas?

That's why I use and it works great. I don't get Hulu here in the UK, but I've clipped my satellite dish and get the series I want via iTunes. In the end, I save a lot of money over my old Sky+ bill.

Well, most of the WWE/TNA shows are put on Youtube not long after they air. Quality will be minimal, but it's a no-frills way to watch your shows.

Hulu isn't all that hard to get on the ATV, but many shows I can't find on it.

iTunes should rent TV shows as well. Like, 50 cents to 1 dollar per episode seems reasonalbe. If you follow, say, 10 shows regularly, that's only around $40 a month, if that. Still probably cheaper than cable. And some of those shows may be available on Hulu, so that's even less.

But that's theoretical. Realistically, the hassle involved in trying to track down shows isn't worth it to me and I go with cable and use ATV for rewatching stuff I own, but I suppose someone who watches limited television and/or doesn't mind really doing some work to get free TV may find it to be a big help.

atvflash and several other free solutions out there will get you hulu access on your TV, although my experience has been that the playback is choppy and nearly unwatchable. Not sure if it's a hardware limitation or something in the software, but I have not been able to find an acceptable way to watch hulu on my TV and get decent quality.
