i've long read this sub forum and greatly appreciate all your insight.

one thing is really bugging me. i keep hearing complaints about the Bravia's. but despite the price, most LCD (and even some plasma) fans swear by them as the dogs. i mean, Lord Steve Jobs (c/o apple) chose them to showcase the hardware at his Temples...i mean shops.

is it a dodgy batch...? are you sure you have got pixel mapping 1:1 with no enhancers on...... ?

help?

I've got a Bravia v2000 32" and apple TV and they work very well together. 720p output looks great from the apple TV (eye TV encoded digital tv).

interesting

thanks for your responses.

the lack of anyone warning me off them yet does give me hope....

Anyone have any ideas why the Bravia+AppleTv combo looks so bad at the Apple store? Is it because of the poor itunes video quality?

i have a bravia 40" and love it.. works very well even with the appletv

Their videos at the apple store have crappy encoding. I've backed up almost my entire dvd library and you cant tell the difference in quality from the DvD.

I have

I have a 46 inch Bravia, and it works as expected. The AppleTV stores are also using Bravias, but the reason why their footage looks so dodgy, is because it is 480p! How can that be expected to look hot on a big TV?

We need HD content for the Apple TV and soon!

I have a samsung, so I'm going to swear by those, but if you have a 720p TV (and mine is), running in 1080i looks better, probably because those things run at 13something by 8something, not really 1280 by 720.

We have a Bravia V300 40 inch working flawlessly with our apple TV, all in 1080i :)

Honestly i was very skeptical of owning an LCD tv at first, I prefer plasma, but the picture on this TV is astounding!

basically if you want top of the line for LCD, buy Sony. If you want top of the line for Plasma, buy Panasonic....at least that's what i've heard.
