Apple TV (Buy movies, rather than rent)

Hi,

I can see on iTunes that you can buy the movies rather than just rent it (via ATV). Will this allow me to watch it on my Apple TV in HD if I buy it (if available).

For example,

On Iron Man 2, I rented it via Apple TV for just under £5 but you can buy it via iTunes for £10 and on the iTunes page it says:

HD films are not available for purchase on the UK iTunes Store. If you buy it, you will get SD ONLY, but with the iTunes Extras that you do not get with a rental.
