I have been using my iTV to play movies and TV programs that I purchased at the iTunes Store. They use to play without a problem. Lately, they will play for about 2 minutes and then stop and the TV gives me the message that it is no longer connected to my computer. I reestablish the connection and resume the program for another 2 or 3 minutes and the same thing happens. I have installed the latest updates for iTV, check to make sure the signal for the wireless is strong, and reset the iTV to factory defaults. Nothing seems to work. I can watch a Netflix movie without a problem through the iTV. The only things that have changed since I began having this problem are that I updated the software on the iTV and I transferred my iTunes library to an external hard drive. I followed Apple's directions for doing the transfer and everything seems to be working fine. I can watch the movies and listen to music on my computer. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it the hard drive? Is it the OS or might it be something else? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had an issue similar to this. I had my media library on an ExHD that was connected USB into my Airport Extreme Router. I had no issues whatsoever acessing anything and everything on my iMac and iPhones. However, whenever I tried to listen to my music or play movies from my ATV, it couldn't find the media. When this would happen, I would go to my computer and open iTunes, and iTunes couldn't find any media! It seems that the USB port on my Airport Extreme goes to sleep. I would connect to the router, and it wouldn't show any HD's connected. I would reboot it, and everything is fine. So for now, I've plugged both HD's into iMac, streaming directly out of there, no problems. Printer is plugged into USB on router and works fine everytime.

Just make sure you have Home Sharing turned on for every device you have.
