I have no idea what to do.

I bought my apple tv and plugged it into my Dlink router. The router was feeding internet to my iMac and my PC laptop. Now my internet on my PC no longer works. It says "limited connectivity" whereas my iMac is working just fine.

Is there a way to get my PC working again with the internet? I am not really techy so I have no idea what is wrong.

I just got an Apple TV and am having the same problem. I have a Linksys router. Whenever the ATV synchs, my 2 other computers that use the wireless network are unable to connect to the Internet even after the synch is complete. So, what I have to do every single day now is turn the router off then on again to reset it. Very annoying!

I have to say I am not at all impressed with this Apple TV, and that it's probably the worse Apple product I've owned. When I rented a video, I could not watch it until the next day because it took nearly 19 hours to download! Plus, the thing gets so blazing hot I'm afraid it will burst into flames when I'm not at home while it is synching.

It has so many problems and I don't have days to sift through the Apple forum searching for answers to all the problems, so, I am probably going to return it and get my money back. The Apple TV seems like a half-baked product that is not ready for prime time.

i have the same problem. my apple tv and macbook pro (wirelessly) work fine, but my parents computer (wired to the router) goes out. I have no idea what the problem is

The problem isn't the Apple TV, it is the router assigning IP numbers to your various devices. Are they all set up for DHCP?

Try turning EVERYTHING off. Then, starting at the cable/DSL modem, turn everything on, one at a time:

1. Cable modem
2. Router
3. Wired PC
4. Macbook Pro
5. Apple TV

Does everything work?

heat

I find that my :apple:TV doesn't get nearly so warm to the touch when sitting on a solid wooden surface. Don't stack it on top of your receiver or other electronic components, which appears to greatly contribute to it heating up. I suspect the previous post about DHCP settings will fix your problem. I am using a linksys router, with mixed Macs/PC environment and wireless :apple:TV syncing, without the problems you are reporting.
