I'm currently programming my RTI remotes to incorporate my ATV's. Does anyone know if the ATV has discrete IR codes (i.e. code 123 = Rent Movie), rather than having to use multiple IR commands to get to the desired menu choice?

If yes, fantastic.

If no, is there a way to get to a same starting point so at least I can program in a series of IR commands to push the the ATV to the right menu choice for the desired action (i.e. Rent Movie takes me to the rent movie screen).

Thanks in advance.

I am guessing not, normally it leaves off where it was last time you used it, unless the remote understands (or you can program it to) the menus of ATV, you will have a hard time doing this.

You would have to map out the menus step by step for the remote and that way it knows what to do if you were in the "My Movies" section to get back to "Rent Movies". Also, since the last place you were at can change, i.e. you were watching a movie and it ended and took you back to the main movie list, the remote would have to know this. The only way that would be possible would be to have a two way IR, which I don't believe the ATV does.

I am not an expert on the hardware, but guessing there is no discrete IR or Two way IR.
