Apple TV doesnt repsond to the remote!

I just bought my first Apple TV, but the damn thing dont respond!

I'm supposed to choose a language but nothing happens when i use the remote! I have tried to pair it and do a restart, but nothing happening!

Does the light on the front of the aTV respond? what color is it...if it's amber and not white, then the remote is paired with another aTV and needs to be unpaired. If no light changes, check the remote has a working battery...go to a mac and test the remote.

As Marvin said, check the battery. My Apple TV shipped with a remote with a dead battery.

As Marvin1379 said, it most likely needs to be paired, or un-paired first, then paired.
