I have an iMac with latest iTunes, and decided to get an Apple TV a couple of weeks ago.

At first I didn't run the update and video seem to playback fine on the TV whilst streaming from the iMac.

However now since I have upgraded everything to the latest software, I usually get no more than 5 minutes of playback before I get dropped back at the top level menu for the Apple TV. The computer is still listed in the drop down and I can just re-navigate to my video to resume playback, it is just a pain this is now happening so often.

Thanks for your help.

Power your ATV off and on by unplugging it. If you are using wifi, power off and on the router. if that fails go into settings on ATV and do a reset. Also, make sure you don't have your imac set up to go into sleep mode if you are using itunes.

Thanks I will give this a try later.
