Greetings,
I have a Apple TV. The one before the 4K came out.
I swear it is dying on me. Issues began when I connected to UHD Roku TV, I think the two hate each other.
When I switch my TV on to Apple TV for the day, it is mysteriously at RESET or RESTART screen... every time.

I came home, after having charged my remote for the night. It no longer worked.
So I have previously restarted and faactory reset it multiple time.

Any thoughts or tips?

Restarted and factory reset: it DOES sound like it's dying. Both the 4th gen and the 5th gen has been in the refurb store if you want to replace it for less than full price (both 4th gen models and the 32GB 4K version in there as I type this, $129-$149). Directv also has their deal on the 4K one, which makes it cost less than any other way even if you don't opt to keep the Directv service beyond the few months that are required.

Hopefully, you got a couple of years out of it before now.

before you dispose of it get a USB-C cane for 4th gen and hook it to a Mac, do a restore in iTunes if you can.

May work.. its still cheaper than the cost of a new device. I never do restores via Settings menu anymore, All mine are done over USB-C and attached to Mac.

I did that again for my 2nd time in a week.. yes. I will try restore via Mac. Otherwise I feel i should upgrade to 4K to match my TV out-put. I have just herd the switch is not very worth while.

It’s only not worth it if you have no interest in 4K, if you do and already have iTunes purchases that are going to get a 4K upgrade for no extra cost other than the unit itself than that has to be worth it doesn’t it.

I would say yes, do I also need to purchase the 4K cable?

I can't parse that. What does it mean? You don't connect your Apple TV to a Roku.

Did you add a Roku to your network, and didn't have one before?

How are they both connected? Wifi or wired?

Did you perhaps statically assign the same IP address to both?

I recommend using wired Ethernet, and use DHCP. You can reserve DHCP addresses on your router if you wish.

I don't know what the "RESET or RESTART" page is - never seen it. Is that one page, or two different ones?
