Apple TV External USB storage question...

I have 3.0.2. patched with boxee, xbmc, nito tv. I have the smart installer installed and nito tv can see my USB HD. Now my problem is I want to set this as my primary storage location so I can sync it with itunes. My problem is the only thing I can find on the web that allows this is a setting in ATV flash. Is there another way to do this without having to pay $50? Since I did almot everything else on my own......
 
no im pretty sure you cant...i have ATVflash and did the same thing. love it but i think you's gotta pay for it.
