I've been having trouble with my Apple TV I think since around the time Snow Leopard arrived. It would always drop from the network AND not want to reconnect unless I restarted it, then it would work like 2 minutes.

So what did I do?

I bought the brand new Airport Extreme that Apple released on Tuesday. It arrived this morning. Previously I had an old G express.

At first, the brand new updated Airport Extreme seemed to fix my Apple TV. It connected and everything was REALLY fast over N network.

However, after say about 15 minutes, itunes was no longer able to sync to it, and told me "check port 3368," or something. Of course, with snow leopard, you can't specifically open a port anyway.

So I don't know what to do ?

My new network is so much faster and stronger. The Apple TV is also only about 25 feet from the Extreme.

What is wrong with these Apple TVs ? Is there anything I can try?

I really thought the brand new Extreme might fix it.

I had the same port problem yesterday and ended up just restarting my Mac, restarting my Time Capsule, and power cycling my AppleTV to resolve the issue. I also found that my ATV is having HDMI-sync issues when set to 1080p so I knocked it down to 720p. I'm not sure what step out of all that fixed it though.

Also make sure you don't have something running on 2.4 ghz like a baby monitor or cordless phone system. I know that has caused me some frustration in the past. Not sure that is your problem, but just a thought.

Ok, so my problem was going on for a couple months. I even did a factory restore on the Apple TV, still wouldn't work.

At first I thought the brand new Airport Extreme didn't fix it, but now I think it did after restarting the Apple TV. I've been connected for 24 hours.

I'm crossing my fingers, but perhaps my old Airport Express was the issue.
