apple tv going back to desktop or menu icons when waking from sleep

Anytime my apple tv 2 goes to sleep and I wake it up it is back to the front page with the icons and such for netflix, home sharing etc but it does not do this if I pause a tv or movie but I do think it has started doing this since the last update i need to check it a little more for that one the main is the going back to icons after viewing a show and it sleeps. Its been doing this since i think ver 4.3 and still does it with 5.0 of the apple tv ver of ios. i also have checked my moms apple tv2 and hers does not do this my apple tv 2 does. any suggestions why it does this and a fix

I'm not sure why it would do this, but i would suggest that you restore your apple tv to factory settings. It's weird that your mums doesn't do it, but yours does. A restore is a good first step.
