Apple TV HDMI control switching receiver to wrong input

Love that when I start streaming to my generation 2 apple tv that it turns on my HDMI connected receiver automatically. Annoying though that it then switches the input from the video channel I'm using for Apple TV to TV, which on my sony str-dn840 has no HDMI input possible. Can't seem to find a way either via the apple tv or the receiver to map the input selection to one I can actually connect the apple tv to.

Any thoughts / suggestions?

I assume you mean disable the input on my receiver and unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a way to do this. I can on my Onkyo in my other apt, but not the Sony it appears.
