I just installed an ATV2 in my classroom so that I can walk around with my iPad and project what I'm doing. I think that will work fine once I solve some wi-fi signal issues. Unfortunately, the iTunes store is blocked on our network so I'm not able to turn on Home Sharing to stream from my iMac. Is there a way around that? Can I stream without my Apple ID? Regular sharing doesn't work anymore, does it?

Sir, if you need to login to home sharing on your Apple Tv. You can take it home and connect to your home network and add it.

Then, take it back to the school and use the wifi.

Can you be more specific about what you want to do? There may be a workaround even with the good answer already posted. For example, you can get the remote control app and from your iPad control iTunes on the iMac to stream directly to ATV2 (the content won't pass through or be from your iPad).
